Why do you like Ouran High School Host Club?

I had seen an AMV for Host Club and thought it would be "interesting" to watch. I love the artwork and the dialogue. The characters are true-to-life with real relations to things around them and real feelings that can be hurt and mended.

I had no expectations of the anime (I haven't read the manga, YET!) when I first started watching it. My friend gave me a url (actually, 27 now) and I was bored. But I actually watched all the episodes available to me because this anime/manga really takes a common situation (at least for animes) and turns it into something original. At first, you have a feeling that you won't have to think that hard to understand this but than it proves you wrong and becomes extremely dramatic.

this series is definetely unlike any shoujo i've ever
read. aside from the perfect recipe for comedy,
throwing a blunt and anything-but-girly haruhi
together with six parodized versions of shoujo hero
archetypes, there is an irresitible originality about
the series. haruhi is most definetely not your average
shoujo heroine. she remains unaffected by the charms
and visual appeal of the host club members, instead
initially scorning their strange qualities beyond
their physical appearance. and instead of the usual
shoujo plotline of all men becoming romantically
interested in her and pursuing her, they're all taken
by commoness in social class but uncommoness as a
girl. despite the scattered romantic moments between
haruhi and some members of the club, the story mostly
focuses on how the characters learn about each other
and in turn their growing and maturing in discovering
new things. i'm delighted to finally experience a
shoujo series in which the focus of the plot isn't
romance and even more delighted that there's non-stop
humor to go along with it.

It is just refreshingly funny! And such a bunch handsome men on top of it! They're all adorable in their differences, so the characters make the series special. But what bound me to the series were the serious elements between all the silliness (like the ones in episode 8). Actually, it is pretty hard to explain the charm of Ouran, so I should quit jabblering now ^^ Just one more thing: I`ve read the Manga up to volume 6, and was impressed with the serious turn of the story, and I think it makes the whole series even more lovely, so I hope the Anime will include them also!!

After seeing an awesome anime mix AMV, Ouran High School Host Club definitly caught my eye. [It was the scene when Hikaru ate a bit of Haruhi's cookie, while Kaoru licked some cookie crumbs off her XD] The first episode was truely amazing. It was incredibly interesting and I became addicted to it right away. My new FAVORITE anime. The characters are so loveable while the storyline was HILARIOUS. I never want this amazing anime to end. I LOVE OHSHC! ^.^

It's because it puts an odd twist on the anime world. People are drawn to it by this weird, undiscribable bond... I felt a similar, but different bond with Furuba(fruits Basket). It kind of eases you into another world...

What really attracted me was the art. I just saw nothing like it in my four years of reading manga. XD It's especially detailed, particularly in the backgrounds. Also, the characters are so squeezable that it's ridiculous (in a very good way). Tamaki kind of annoyed me on the outset, but geesh, I love him now. They have original personalities, nice looks, and their own unique perks that make me squeal. >__< In addition, the humor is amazing. When I read the first volume in the car on the way home from the mall, I kept giggling, and when I got home, I couldn't make it up the driveway. It was just that hilarious. Sometimes I forget that there's supposed to be romance in the series. XD
