Haruhi Voice-Over: The chaos of Host Club life strikes... and kicks me right back to square one.
Tamaki: Hmm? What's this? A student ID? *picks it up*
Haruhi: Oh... I bet that's mine.
Tamaki: *pause* Haruhi...
Haruhi: Yes?
Tamaki: ... You're a girl?
Haruhi: Yes. Never claimed otherwise.
Tamaki: *long pause* ...... ?!?!
Volume 1, Chapter 03
Tamaki: Haruhi! *runs up* Whatcha think of my acting?
Haruhi: It was... uh... fascinating, in a way... *thinks* Never saw anyone get so intoxicated with himself.
Tamaki: I've discoverd a new personality facet! And I think I might go with it for awhile...
Haruhi: Y'think so? Seems to me you're okay just the way you are. *thinks* I think his melancholy side would just muddle things. He's easier to take now.
Tamaki: *blushes* Hmm... I suppose... you could be right.
Volume 3, Chapter 08
Tamaki: Haruhi... Are you... secretly a martial artist like Hunny, or do you have diving experience?
Haruhi: Huh? No...
Tamaki: Then what gives? You didn't call us, even though we were right here! Did you think a girl could take on three guys all alone?
Haruhi: What does being a girl have to do with it? There's no time to think when you're on the spot...
Tamaki: Well, think a little!! Idiot!!
Haruhi: I apologize for troubling you guys, but I don't see why I should be scolded for anything else. I didn't do anything wrong!!
Tamaki: Fine! Do whatever you want!! I won't speak to you until you admit your mistake!!
Hikaru: Looks like he wants to talk already.
Kaoru: Why don't you apologize, Haruhi?
Haruhi: I don't want to.
Volume 3, Chapter 09
Tamaki: Tsk. Okay, fine. You're probably wiped out from the big day. Go to bed, all right?
Haruhi: Uh... Tama-
Lightning and thunder flashes, and Haruhi instinctively grabs the back of Tamaki's shirt as he turns to go.
Tamaki: Huh? Wh-what?
Haruhi: Uh... nothing. I'm sorry.

Haruhi: I'm sorry! I just remembered something I have to do! I'm going now! *goes into a wardrobe*

Haruhi: *quickly opens the wardrobe, hitting Tamaki in the face* ...

Haruhi: Tamaki? They've all gone downstairs.

Tamaki: What a bustling grocerteria! Is this market on foreign soil?! A festival for the common folk?
Haruhi: Huh? But it's always like this.
Tamaki: *sees a cart* Ha- Haruhi! Haruhi!! That rolling thing. I've got to try it!! This is awesome! It's like the airport!!
Haruhi: Please don't. *looking at fruit* Hmm. It's too cumbersome. I'm not buying that much.
Meat Department Man: Hey everyone! Super sale! For only fifteen minutes! The sale item is reduced! From $8.91 to $7.09! We're prepared to go bankrupt!
Tamaki: G-got to line up!! We must respect this man's philosophy!! He's prepared to go bankrupt!
Haruhi: *places a hand on his shoulder* Hold it right there. I bet you're helpless when it comes to shopping channels.
Tamaki: Ack! How did you know?
Haruhi: *holds his arm* You stay with me. If I let you wander about... we may never leave this place. Ah. Chinese cabbage is cheap. Do you like cabbage, Tamaki? *thinks* I'll fill up the pot with cabbage. Since they're big eaters.
Tamaki: Uh... Yes! I will eat anything!!
Saleslady: Oh, what a cute couple! Hey handsome, would you like to try some?
Tamaki: Cuh?! Couple?!
Volume 4, Chapter 16
Akira: You're Fujioka, right? Why did you join the club?
Haruhi: Oh... on account of my carelessness...
Akira: Then... are you aware of the rumor that this club is nothing but a vehicle for the Suoh family to show its power?
Haruhi: Huh?

Haruhi: *looking at Tamaki, thinks* I don't think he's got any hidden agenda. The newspaper club members must be mistaken. But... Come to think of it, I don't know much about Tamaki's family.
Volume 4, Chapter 16
Tamaki: Haruhi!! Don't just stand there. Run!! I had to put an end to color tag. Now it's time for hide and seek. The loser will be subjected to Hunny's new trick. The one that follows the bunny kick and bunny punch.
Haruhi: Huh? I don't think I would... like that.
Tamaki: It's said that the base of a lighthouse is dark. He may not find us here.
Haruhi: What is this place?
Tamaki: I think it used to house animals.

Volume 4, Chapter 16
Haruhi: Anyhow, I didn't expect to play something like this in high school. I haven't run this much in a long time.
Tamaki: Huh? It wasn't fun?
Haruhi: Huh? Well, I had fun like this playing with friends when I was in grade school, but...
Tamaki: Oh. Hm... I see. I hardly knew any kids my age back then. My mother used to be sickly. I was so worried about her that I wouldn't let her out of my sight. I used to play piano or sing songs for her all the time to cheer her up. Thanks to my efforts, my mother fully recovered.
Haruhi: Er- huh...
Tamaki: *smiles* That's why it's fun to play with friends now!! Really fun!! Let's do this again!!
Haruhi: *smiles back* Sure. *thinks* That's fine with me. It's okay every once in a while.
Tamaki: *blushes, thinks* She's... she's so cute.
Volume 6, Chapter 26
Haruhi: *thinks* I'm often told I'm rather insensitive, but... If I were in Tamaki's place... could I stop myself from hating that grandmother? Though Tamaki acts the way he does, maybe he... carries a deep darkness inside him.

Random Parent: Oh my, how ill-mannered... who daughter is she?
Random Parent: She might be a relative of that scholarship student...
Random Parent: Ah... so that's why...
Haruhi: *thinks* Oh. I guess rich people don't do this sort of thing. Oh no, his grandmother is watching us too... I'm- I'm sorry. I'll go fetch a clean plate...
Tamaki reaches forward and grabs her hands, eating the food she offered on her fork.
Tamaki: Thank you. It's delicious.
Haruhi: Tamaki... People are watching...
Tamaki: Hmmm? Why do we have to care when we aren't doing anything bad? Listen, Haruhi. I'm me before I'm a Suoh. And I'm proud of that fact.
Volume 6, Chapter 26
Tamaki: Hey, Haruhi, I should show you photos of my mother sometime. She's a gorgeous woman, you know. She's far away right now... but I believe she is doing well.
Haruhi: Oh... sure. *smiles* I'd love to see them.

Haruhi: *thinks* I now find it fortunate... that he has a frighteningly positive mind and surplus of energy. It's good that Tamaki is who he is.

Haruhi has been kidnapped by the Zuka Club and pressured into participating in their special show.
Haruhi: Waaaaahhhh!!!! Help meee!!!

Kaoru: What is it, milord? Are you picking up wireless transmissions again?
Hunny: I didn't hear anything!

Tamaki: Urrgh!! I'll put a stop to this now...
Ryoji: No, hold it!! Look at Haruhi. Doesn't she seem to have perked up?
