Hmm... what to say about this pairing? It has possibilities, even though Mori is rare to say anything. As Bisco Hatori stated in V1, there's at least an "outside chance of Haruhi and Mori becoming a couple." The strong and silent type, Mori and Haruhi have yet to experience any real 'romantic' moments. He can, however, heft Haruhi over his shoulder easily like a bag of flour (a gag that is used again and again throughout the series). Haruhi, for her part, seems to notice the little things about Mori because he is so rare to talk. She even noticed the first time he smiled in front of her (when she told him that Hunny would be all right after he accidentally stepped on the little guy). And have you seen this guy smile? He's gorgeous! Check out his character profile if you don't believe me...
There's also a humorous short story in V5 about Mori when he gets sleepy. His personality drastically changes, but it's quite funny as he calls Haruhi "cute". I think Hatori-sensei was giving MoriHaru fans a little something there. ^_~
There's not much to say about their relationship so far, but it's developing. It looks like a memorable friendship, but nothing more than that.
What about the anime?:
Mori and Haruhi share just a few cute moments between the two of them, but nothing more than that. These two are good friends, and I'm sure Haruhi respects the older host club member. Mori may be a teenager of few words, but he's as reliable as they come. Anime-wise, Mori and Haruhi share a comfortable friendship.
