Episode 23 - Tamaki's Unrealized Melancholy

Summary: Kasanoda accidentally discovers Haruhi's secret! The Host Club threatens him, but Haruhi calms them down before they can do any serious damage. Tamaki, meanwhile, seems to be in permanent shock, especially when the twins ask Kasanoda if he's fallen for Haruhi, now that he knows she's a girl.
Tetsuya and his other underlings back at home find out that love has finally come for their master. Problem is, they think Haruhi is a guy! Confusion spreads all around the next day as well when Kasanoda requests Haruhi as a host during the host club hours. Now even the female students begin to think that he fancies men!
Kasanoda and Haruhi seem to be getting along really well, much to the irritation of the twins. They want Kyoya to kick him out, but since Kasanoda is keeping Haruhi's secret and he's at the club as a customer, Kyoya sees no reason to. Knowing they'll get no help from the Shadow King, the Hitachiin twins turn to Tamaki.
Unfortunately, the Host Club King is still out of it even when the twins force him towards Kasanoda and Haruhi. She just makes the blonde sit on the other side of her and gives him a small toy he can play with while she talks to Kasanoda. Watching all this from the other side of the room, Hikaru calls Tamaki on his cell phone. He warns him that if he doesn't do something about it now, Haruhi is going to be taken by Kasanoda and turned into a tough "ane-san".
Tamaki won't accept that and breaks out of his robot mode, threatening Kasanoda with bodily harm for daring to come near his "daughter"! However, Kasanoda brings up the very true and startling fact that Tamaki is not her father at all.
Why then, Tamaki wonders, does he think Haruhi is so cute and so charming if he's not her "father"? Why is he so worried and unbearable when she's with other guys?
The other Host Club members come to the same shocking conclusion - Tamaki has no idea that he, in fact, likes Haruhi!
Will the Host Club King be forever in denial?
