Episode 21 - Until the Day It Becomes a Pumpkin

Summary: A horse carriage will turn into a pumpkin at midnight. But the one who cast this spell is not an old witch...
Class 1-A discusses what they should do as a special activity for Halloween, under the supervision of the class president, Kazukiyo Souga, and vice-president, Momoka Kurakano. At Ouran, they are allowed to use the entire day for a class event in order to promote class bonding. Renge proposes the Halloween Special Fear Trial Tournament, much to the trepidation of Kazukiyo. The class finds the idea exciting, especially as they'll be trying to scare each other in the school hallways during the night. The class president asks if anyone's opposed to the idea, while staring intently at Haruhi, but as there's no answer, he is forced to agree to the fear trial.
Until Halloween is over, the twins and Haruhi take a break from club activities in order to prepare and participate in their class event. Tamaki isn't too thrilled about it, and proclaims that he won't let his "daughter" participate in such indecent class bonding. (He's imagining that Haruhi will get scared and grab onto either one of the twins.)
Watching as Tamaki frets over his "daughter" as the "daddy", Kaoru states that this - this is the magic spell. Tamaki considers all the Host Club members as his "family", even though in reality, they aren't.
Despite their lord's protests, Hikaru and Kaoru manage to escape with Haruhi in tow. Tamaki wants to participate too, but they're already gone before they can hear him. Nekozawa, however, appears out of nowhere, saying that such an event requires the Black Magic Club.
Meanwhile, as preparations continue, Haruhi finds out from the class president that he's scared of dark places, horror movies, ghost storytelling, and anything else a person can possibly be scared of concerning Halloween. He confesses that he tried to get someone to oppose it, namely her, but she didn't notice. So instead, he asks to be part of her group as Kazukiyo believes her calmness will rub off on him and he won't get so panicked. But he also gets stuck with Hikaru and Kaoru, who are determined to tease and torture the class president.
On the night of the event, Kazukiyo is starting to freak out until the twins mention Momoka. The class president confesses that he didn't object to the fear trial because Momoka seemed like she was looking forward to it. But just as he's starting to calm down, a skull drops down the stairs. They think it's foul play by another group, so Hikaru kicks it back up, hitting someone. Before they can celebrate, a figure steps out with long black hair, revealing a corpse-like face. That efficiently scares the group, and they go off in two different directions. Hikaru and Haruhi one way, and Kaoru and Kazukiyo in another.
Hikaru and Haruhi get stuck in a net, which means very close proximity. Meanwhile, Kaoru and Kazukiyo are trapped in a chemistry room. Kazukiyo ends up confessing that he doesn't want to ruin his current relationship with Momoka as the class officers, and so doesn't want to tell her his feelings because of the possible consequences. Kaoru replies that must be Kazukiyo's magic spell of his own carriage.
Kaoru goes on to say that it's okay if a horse carriage just keeps traveling on. He feels that family settings like "Daddy" and "Mommy" are just Tamaki's magic spell to prevent the Host Club's current relationship from breaking up. Before Tamaki, the twins never got to play with so many friends as they do now. So it's important to have as much fun as they can before the inevitable changes occur.
Kaoru is very much aware that someday, the spell will fade and the carriage will have to turn back into a pumpkin. What will happen then...?
